Meet Your Travel Agent - Camy
Oh, Hi! Welcome to the Sunshine Pavilion!
My name is Camy. I was born and raised in Loveland, Colorado and now live and teach in Colorado Springs! My husband, Ben, and I have been together nearly 10 years and now we’re soaking up every moment with our daughter, Jordy.
Full time, I teach 8th grade Special Education. In fact, I am moving into my 5th year of teaching!! I love working with middle school aged students…it is certainly never boring!
My personal interests include Taylor Swift, Theme Parks (obviously), Coffee, Arts/Crafts, Baking and Cookie/Cake Decorating, Genealogy and Ancestry research, Renaissance Festivals, Reading, and Traveling to new places!
Walt Disney World: My Cast Member Story
In 2014, I was accepted into the Disney College Program in Orlando, FL. I was first accepted for Housekeeping at All Star Movies Resort. I cleaned the Mighty Ducks buildings for a short period of time before being transferred to Main Street in the Magic Kingdom! I worked under Main Street Operations, meaning I managed Mickey and Tinkerbell’s Meet-and-Greet queue lines in the Town Square Theater, managed parade and firework viewing areas, as well as introducing new sorcerers to our Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom game! My experience was life changing. I was introduced to unique opportunities and experiences, Disney “Secrets”, and comprehensive knowledge about the “ins and outs” of Disney’s theme parks.
Universal Orlando: My Team Member Experience
In 2015, I had the honor of calling The Three Broomsticks “Home”. I bussed tables, took out trash, served countless mugs of Butterbeer…and I loved every second of it. I grew up loving the Harry Potter series, having felt as though I grew up alongside the characters, so getting to actually immerse myself in the story day after day was a childhood dream come true.
The (almost) year that I spent with Universal Orlando was filled with fun, laughter, and memories that I will cherish for a lifetime. It was also full of days exploring the parks and learning all that I could about Universal Studios. I love these parks and I simply cannot WAIT to step foot in Epic Universe for the first time!!
What is “The Sunshine Pavilion”?
The Sunshine Pavilion refer’s back to the history of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room in Walt Disney World. When the attraction first opened on October 1st, 1971, the show was named “Tropical Serenade” and was housed within The Sunshine Pavilion!
